1. Croyde Beach Stroll

Begin your adventure with a leisurely stroll to Croyde Beach, the main attraction in Croyde. From Combas Farm Camping, you have multiple routes to choose from. If you're arriving from Saunton, Down End car park is your closest parking option. Coastal steps, etched into the rocks, lead you down to Croyde Bay, offering unforgettable glimpses of the coastline. Alternatively, you can opt for the footpath from the village center, nestled between Billy Buds and Saltrock Surf Shop. This footpath takes you through fields and sand dunes before revealing the beauty of Croyde Beach. For dog owners, it's good to know that Croyde Beach is dog-friendly during the winter and outside peak season weeks, making it a perfect spot for a beach walk with your furry companion. Dogs are welcome in the summer months at Saunton, Putsborough and to the left of the stream at Woolacombe Beach.

2. Baggy Point Adventure

Baggy Point should never be missed, along the South West Coastal Path -just a stone's throw away from Combas Farm Camping. Starting and finishing at the National Trust car park, this walk takes you around the headland, with stunning panoramic views of Lundy, Croyde, Saunton, Hartland, and Woolacombe. On a clear day you can even spot South Wales. You'll find benches to catch your breath, chat to other walkers and soak in the breathtaking views with Croyde Bay as your backdrop. The circular walk provides options to explore both the top and bottom paths or venture along to Putsborough Beach before making your way back to the campsite via the road or farm tracks.

3. Tranquil Combas Lane

Combas Lane, our quiet little farm track, is a perfect escape for those seeking peace and quiet. It starts right in Croyde, near The Manor, and finishes at the hilltop just around the corner from Putsborough Beach. While it can get muddy after heavy rainfall, the walk offers solitude and a track that rarely sees cars. While Combas Lane itself isn't a circular walk, it serves as a gateway to various routes that can extend your adventure or lead you back to the campsite. We can’t think of a better walk home from the pub!

4. Down End Coastal Delight

The Down End walk is a short but stunning coastal stroll that guides you along the ocean's edge. Conveniently, you can park at Down End car park, and instead of walking across the beach, take a left at the top of the steps, leading you around the headland towards Saunton. As you approach the headland, you'll be treated to views of Saunton Beach and paddleboarders exploring hidden coves. A strategically placed bench offers the perfect vantage point to watch the sunset over the horizon. If you're feeling curious, you might even catch a glimpse of the Grand Design house from this spot.

5. Saunton Down Hike

The Saunton Down walk takes you on a hillside climb in Croyde, showcasing stunning views of Croyde Bay and Saunton Beach from the hilltops. You can kickstart this coastal path adventure by following the road opposite The Thatch (Cloutman's Lane). As the road transforms from a cul-de-sac into a hill climb, you'll find the footpath waiting to be explored. This captivating journey includes passages through farming fields and dirt tracks, allowing you to fully appreciate the natural beauty of North Devon. Once you've conquered the hill, you'll arrive at Saunton, where you can take a well-deserved break at Saunton Cafe or continue your adventure by finding the footpath that will lead you back to Combas Farm Camping.
